Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of health care that uses your body’s life energy to restore health. Fine needles are tapped into the skin, working to open up the invisible energy channels that run throughout your body. Using these energy channels, your acupuncturist can fine tune the energy balance to restore your health and wellbeing.
Numerous scientific studies about acupuncture have been conducted in recent decades, and these are showing multiple benefits. Acupuncture can be an effective treatment on it’s own, or it can be combined with other modalities. These include Tui Nai massage, moxibustion, cupping, scraping, and other treatments. Combined with a Western medical treatment plan, these treatments can enhance the results of your medications and reduce your side effects. Acupuncture treatment after surgeries can help patients recover faster.
Traditional Chinese Herbal Formula
Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbal Formulas are created based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments. The composition and structures of prescriptions, the rules of drug compatibility and the rules of taking medicine have been studied in China for thousands of years. The most efficient formulas were recorded in TCM books.
We apply the formulas in two forms. Either the original herbal materials are processed in the traditional ways, or we use a scientifically processed herbal powder mis. Both formulas work well. We have found that many patients prefer the powder mix; it is more convenient for our modern lifestyle as it can be pressed into pills or put into capsules.
These TCM formulas can treat almost all diseases. We often combine TCM herbal formulas with acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and other modalities of TCM to ensure a comprehensive approach to treatment. If a patient is also taking Western medicine(s), we take extra care and consideration to ensure that there are no conflicts that can cause any harm. We encourage you to consult our TCM Herbalist or TCM Doctors for professional advise on your specific conditions.
TCM herbal formulas are not intended to be taken for a patient’s entire life. It is a more dynamic approach to treatment when compared to it’s Western counterpart. Herbal formulas are adjusted regularly to work with the body’s changes. This means the TCM herbal formulas patients take will change over the years.

In China for thousands of years, almost all types of problems have been treated with acupuncture, but nowadays we normally use acupuncture for chronic pain conditions which may include chronic fatigue syndrome, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, inflammatory bowel disease, interstitial cystitis, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, vulvodynia and etc. We usually use herbs to treat more chronic and internal type problems, but only your acupuncture physician can decide the best course of treatment for you.
Acupuncture works by redirecting your body’s own natural energy. Once the energy is flowing properly again, the pain will be gone and the natural healing process will start.
Return for acupuncture treatment every other day until your problem gone. If you only get 1 or 2 treatments per week, it may take the rest of your life – you are just wasting your time and money. If treat the problem ASAP, it may only take one or two treatments. Tell your physician all of your health complaints the very first visit. Avoid foods containing spicy or pungent flavors, any type of sesame product (meal or oil), and alcohol for 48hrs after each treatment.
The needles used are hair thin and totally unlike the needles used for injections of medicine. Most people don’t even feel the insertion and those who do, describe it as a kind of pressure. There is no need to be afraid of the needles.
